What the technology actually is
A PV module converts irradiance into DC power, but the commercial asset is the complete string and array. Electrical ratings, temperature coefficients, mechanical loading, connectors, mismatch, degradation and the installation environment must be read together.
Compare module technology through traceable model evidence, electrical and mechanical compatibility, climate exposure, warranties, degradation basis, logistics and replacement strategy.

Where it can create value
Selection should follow roof loading, wind exposure, corrosion, available area, voltage design and maintenance access. A higher module wattage can reduce module count but may create larger dimensions, current or handling constraints.
- High wattage and brand recognition do not by themselves prove project fit or lifecycle support.
- The decision crosses operating, electrical, commercial or regulatory boundaries.
- Management needs a defensible next step before committing capital.

What commonly breaks the business case
Bankability is weakened by mixed connector families, unverified clamping zones, optimistic soiling assumptions, inaccessible rows and warranties that exclude the actual environment or remedy. Module efficiency alone does not predict delivered energy.
