Storage business case

BESS feasibility based on load, power and operational value

Separate kW from kWh, model dispatch by interval and test whether the battery creates value through resilience, peak control, self-consumption or another defined service.

When this matters

  • A facility has solar surplus, demand peaks or costly outages.
  • A battery size was selected from panel capacity alone.
  • Several revenue or savings streams may compete for the same capacity.
02

What we evaluate

  • Interval load, PV, tariff and outage scenarios.
  • Power/energy ratio, reserve, efficiency and degradation.
  • Control priorities and mutually exclusive use cases.
03

What you receive

  • Shortlisted BESS configurations.
  • Scenario economics with sensitivities.
  • Functional specification for procurement.

Storage policy is not a sizing calculation

The DOE’s 2026 ESS framework updates the role of storage in the power sector. A commercial buyer still needs a project-specific route and operating study. Separate required kW from usable AC kWh, reserve for outages from energy available for peak shaving, and grid services from behind-the-meter savings. A rule for a large renewable plant is not a universal battery requirement for every rooftop.

Start with clarity, not a purchase

Free initial solar + BESS assessment

Tell us what you need to improve: electricity cost, reliable power, an existing system or a public procurement. We start with a no-obligation desktop review of the information you provide.

First: free initial assessment

You receive a short response identifying the apparent priority, missing information and a recommended next step. No site visit, measurements, engineering design, legal opinion or certification is included.

If useful: an agreed engineering scope

Only after the free assessment, we can send a separate proposal with scope, deliverables, fee and timing. It can cover measured loads, solar yield, BESS sizing, tender risks, cybersecurity or lifecycle cost. Nothing starts until you approve it.

Do not attach bills, diagrams, credentials or other sensitive files here. We will agree a secure transfer route after initial contact.

The initial desktop assessment is free. Any detailed work begins only after you approve a separate scope and proposal.

Public entities: preliminary contact does not confer preferred-bidder status or authorize an award. Any subsequent engagement must follow the applicable procurement process.
