Independent engineering guide
Read the architecture—not just the label.
This guide separates nameplate language from the operating evidence a Philippine buyer needs. It is educational decision support: the exact design, availability, certification and authority route must be confirmed for the selected model and site.

What the technology actually is
A 200 kWh BESS must be described by both its energy window and its power-conversion path. Battery rack voltage, PCS rating, state-of-charge reserve, auxiliary consumption and dispatch constraints decide whether the nominal capacity can serve the intended event.
Model peak shaving, PV capture and continuity scenarios against interval data, PCS power, SOC reserve, degradation, tariffs and recovery priorities.

Where it can create value
It can support a wider peak-shaving window or a selected production island when load data shows a repeatable target. Stacking backup and tariff services is possible only when the same state of charge is not promised twice.
- A medium-size battery can be overworked by combining every value stream without a dispatch hierarchy.
- The decision crosses operating, electrical, commercial or regulatory boundaries.
- Management needs a defensible next step before committing capital.

What commonly breaks the business case
A dispatch model based on a perfect forecast can create a low-SOC condition immediately before an outage. Demand savings may also be overstated when the billing interval, recharge peak, round-trip loss and operational overrides are omitted.
- For 200 kWh BESS, we test the site data, interfaces, operating limits, commercial assumptions and evidence needed for acceptance.
- Available bills, interval data, drawings, settings, contracts and operating records.
- Assumptions, contradictions, missing evidence and the party responsible for each dependency.
SPECIFY • CONTRACT • TEST
Evidence to request before a binding offer
Require a traceable interval-data simulation, reserve hierarchy, recharge strategy, end-of-life usable capacity, auxiliary-load accounting, round-trip-efficiency test boundary, failure-state matrix and warranty terms linked to actual throughput and temperature.
- A project-specific 200 kwh bess scope with priorities, owners, open dependencies and measurable acceptance criteria.
- A decision memo that separates verified facts from assumptions.
- Prioritized actions, owners and acceptance evidence for the next stage.

Four questions that keep procurement measurable
- 01INPUT
What measured site data defines the duty?
- 02INTERFACE
What voltage, protection, control and data boundaries must match?
- 03GUARANTEE
Which usable result is contractually promised at end of life?
- 04TEST
How will the operating result and failure recovery be witnessed?
